Walkability Audit

Our focused urban-design assessment helps municipalities address challenges such as pedestrian safety, underperforming commercial streets, and disconnected neighbourhoods to key destinations. We evaluate how street design, pedestrian connections, land use, and public spaces shape the experience of an area to provide practical recommendations to improve walkability, strengthen the public realm, and guide municipal priorities and future investment.

The Walkability Assessment Report includes:

1. Review study-area context, existing conditions, and intended outcomes with staff
2. Conduct field assessment* of pedestrian infrastructure, crossings, road-user behaviour, public realm, and pedestrian safety and comfort
3. Identify key strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
4. Provide professional urban-design analysis and prioritized recommendations
5. Outline potential next steps and high-level cost considerations
6. Prepare a Walkability Assessment Report and review findings with the municipality
